The refining phase of the project is where I myself are to re-visit my rationale I wrote up for myself throughout week 6 when discovering my idea and what I would do and tweek my website in any way that is required to make it fit the rationale as well as identifying any usability issues in which I found has occurred in making my website with the interface and interactions etc.
I found myself very behind in the creating of the website phase of the project as I was still finalising my logo design on Adobe Illustrator so it would be ready to be put straight onto my splash page of the Adobe XD file that I had created ready. So I began the real work on the website in week 13. Straight away I found some issue that arose with the interactions with the website. My logo in which I had created on Illustrator cam out on the splash page extremely gapy, meaning there was all these white spaces between my brush strokes on any of the icons that I drew so it made the entire logo unreadable for the viewer. With panic and assistance from my teacher she quickly found a solution to make the illustrator logo blank out those spots on the website splash page by gowing through a process of click line stroke > select > same > fill colour > window > pathfinder > shape mode (unite). Then when I made my first auto-animate I found two issues where Illustrator had picked up these small pixel like pieces and attached them to the moving microphone piece I wanted to animate. To resolve I double clicked the pieces and deleted them but this process was very tedious as it would always highlight the entire image meaning I would accidentally delete the whole logo by accident and then have to command+Z it. I also found that the animation timing was a trial an error because originally at 2s was very slow and seamed as though it took way to long to animate so with a few attempts of seeing what was perfect I found 0.2s from display was perfect and would make the logo pulsate at you when you are on the splash page enticing you to click the logo which takes you further into the website.
What I feel I did well is the logo and the final product of it. It turned out well and I like the look of it as it includes the location of the event within it, the genre of the festival straight of view as well as the season that the festival is held in with the blazing sun in the background perceiving a sense of heat and hot. The final product although I really like I feel as though could have been done better with the pen tool perhaps as I used the paintbrush tool and on Illustrator makes it turn out really well! but on the Adobe XD kind of looks childish and simple. I also should have started the design process a lot earlier as I didn’t expect it to set me back this much so I do wish I had started earlier. I am happy with it as it was extremely time consuming and tedious setting me back on production phase but with hard work from now until week 15 I can see my website turning out exactly how I wish so.
